I have taken a lot of college classes. Some of them were fun and some of them, not so much. I have taken classes where you could tell the teacher thought they were teaching you all this useful information and by the end of the semester I could not even tell you what the class was about. My grandmother told me that I will hardly use anything I learn in school. She said that the first year of actual teaching is when I will learn everything about being a teacher. I take everything my grandmother says to heart. Then, I have taken CI350 and this class. I have to say that 350 was VERY overwhelming. I cried in front of 30 plus people, but I actually learned about a lot technology to use in the classroom that I would have never known about or even thought to use for class. When I decided to take this class this summer I was like, "AM I CRAZY!" I have learned more in this short amount of time then I have in any other Marshall class. I have actually had to think about what I would do to prepare for the first day of school. I put things I learned in CI350 to use, bought things that I will actually use when I do become a teacher, and stole from other teachers like crazy. I guess you could say I am cheap because I never buy books for class unless I have too, but I actually got the book for this class because I felt that it was important to have. I loved the videos we watched in this class, stole ideas from those too. Finally, Harold, we I first meet him he said that we would not impress him. I was like, why should we even try then, but for some reason it help me try even harder to impress him. After having two class with Harold, even though they cause me more stress than anyone could understand I hope we have more classes with him so I can be better prepared for teaching.
